I usually start the bushing in the control arm with the arm end sitting on the work bench, then the bushing is pushed into the bore. An easy way to get the rubber bushing out of the control arm when you don't have a press. In an earlier video I used a 1/8 drill bit and a pick to get the rubber part of the bushing out.

Nov 01, I remove this mounting plate on the C4s to make lower control arm removal easier. cars have the shock mount cast into the lower control arm.
The plate is removed and the control arm pushed downward away from the spring. I apply silicone grease to the area in the control arm where the spring sits during assembly.
